Join me for an in-person class at The Village Forager on Tuesday, May 12th from 5:30-7:30 pm!
The Village Forager- 624 E Main St., Centerville, IN 47330
In this class, you’ll learn to identify the medicinal qualities of plants through blind tea & tincture tastings! We’ll explore the sensations & flavors each herbs bring & discuss how they connect with medicinal actions & energetics.
Here’s how it works:
We taste unlabeled teas & tinctures so you don’t know what the herb is! The goal is to go in completely fresh, relying on on your senses & not prior knowledge of the herbs.
Discuss what everyone feels, smeels (smells, lol), tastes, & senses in our bodies! Does your mouth feel more dry? Did you start salivating? Did a color pop into your brain? Do you feel more relaxed, hyper, spacey? Anything!
I reveal the herb & walk you through the flavors! We taste again to really get a sense of the tastes & qualities of each remedy.
Finally I explain what those certain tastes, smells, & sensations actually mean medicinally.
For example:
“This tastes bitter, that means this herb stimulates the liver. Here’s when you’d want that…”
“This tea tastes sweet- there’s a demulcent quality there. A demulcent is a moistening herb, here’s when you’d want that…”
“In the herbal world, we call this taste salty. Here’s what I mean by that…”
Bring you favorite mug, a pen, & paper- I’ll provide all the herbal remedies of course. (& if you forget anything I’ll have extras)
If you’ve never been to The Village Forager- it’s a wonderfully unique gift shop with jewelry, herbal remedies (mine included!), books, home decor, clothes, ceramics, candles, trinkets, & more! Shopping is encouraged before or after the class (:
